Photography Thesis

My first Photography thesis (completed in the runup to the 2012 elections) dwells on the intersection of my own interest in foreboding imagery, and the cries of impending apocalypse coming from the political extremes in our country. I worked extensively on capturing the key moments before jarring events, or situations expressing inevitability and fragility. Afterwards, I incorporated text from music, films, and books and poetry to add or enhance the feeling of doom. For me, the project both conveys a crackling energy that I relish, and comments on our ability to find danger where there is none.
